Adele gets top spot in music’s under-30s rich list

For the 2nd year running, Brit songwriter and singer Adele has topped Sunday Times’ music rich list under-30s. With a figure estimated at £ 45 million, the Grammy winning artist has topped Sunday Times under-30s music rich list. This is the second year in a row that she has grabbed this spot. In spite of releasing no new music, the wealth of the singer has gone up by £ 15 million last year.
The twenty six year old singer has released 2 studio albums – 19 (in the yea r2008) and 21 (in the year 2011) – and penned the theme music to the James Bond’s 2012 movie Skyfall. She was also given an MBE for her services to music in 2013.
The second position was clinched by DJ Calvin Harris, with an estimated fortune of £ 30 million to his name. Calvin Harris, whose actual name is Adam Richard Wiles, unveiled his 3rd studio album named 18 Months in the year 2012 and he has enjoyed 9 United Kingdom Top Ten hits from the record. The 1st week sales of more than fifty thousand also propelled the album to the top of United Kingdom album chart.
Brit singer Cheryl Cole, the former Girls Aloue star, who has not unveiled new music for the past 2 years, has dropped a spot from previous year and he is now 3rd in the list with a fortune of £ 16 million.
The Top Ten list is led by 5 members of One Direction –Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles – who each has a fortune estimated at around £ 14 million.
