Jazz musician looks at old strings from Greece and Hungary

Charles Lloyd, a Jazz music artist and composer, has what you might term an ‘eclectic’ resume. He has played with hundreds and hundreds of jazz musicians. He has also played with the likes of the Beach Boys, B.B. King and tabla master Zakir Hussain.

Charles Lloyd, tonight, will be inducted as a National Endowment for Arts Jazz Master. Well, in part, he is being honored for fusing jazz with musical styles from several other times and places.

You would be able to listen to this on his new album named Wild Man Dance that features 2 old instruments from Europe. A leading website reported that Lloyd told that he decided that he wanted to have strings. But he wanted to have the strings of a cimbalom and the lyra. Brussels Jazz Orchestra Performs At Penn State

A band of more than ten musicians all dressed in black dress shirts and navy suits professionally appeared on stage at Eisenhower Auditorium for the “BJO’s Finest and Graphicology” on Thursday night.

The widely acclaimed jazz orchestra has previously played in different cities all over the globe, including New York City and Singapore, with various movie productions and musical acts.

Brussels Jazz Orchestra has also won many awards including the Academy Award for a soundtrack in “The Artist” and Grammy nominations for the track “Wild Beauty”. Their performance started with some pieces from “BJO’s Finest” program that featured note-moving and smooth melodic pieces. The audience witnessed how each musician in the orchestra was playing in a united, yet unique way. Many felt lucky to hear them.

On numerous occasions throughout the performance, each musician including the pianist, the saxophone player, the drummer, and the trumpet player performed a solo. This led the rhythm of the selected piece, an improvisation many students in the crowd noticed. Jazz inspired ‘Whiplash’ receives positive reviews from film critics

People might have funked a few times after seeing bloody hands working with the drums, but critics have sure welcomed that feeling of anxiousness while seeing the 2014 movie ‘Whiplash,’ and they have got a Oscar nomination this year to prove it.

The 2014 movie – Whiplash is about a young jazz musician being terrified by his own master appears to have connected a little fan-base, but people have been gushing about the film since it has been unveiled during the Sundance Film Festival 2014 in January.

The film deals with a boy Andrew Neiman, a nineteen year old jazz drummer, thinking of greatness but not really sure if his dream would ever come true. Music Band to host Concert after Jazz’s Inspiration

Estar Cohen Project, a modern jazz inspired music band, is all set to host a gig to promote the release of the band’s debut album named Waiting for Dawn.

Estar Cohen, a 4th year vocal major at University of Toledo, told that the primary focus of Estar Cohen project is improvised, live music along with empathetic value.

According to reports, she told that they spend a whole lot of time on their choice of music because they want to ensure that it is something that they not just really enjoy playing, but something they thoroughly connect with.

Cohen, as a composer and lyricist with folk influences, strives to be as much a storyteller as music artist. She told that she always want to have some kind of a compelling tale for the audience to latch onto. Cohen told that Becca Stevens is a singer-songwriter whom she is inspired by, with popular folk artist Joni Mitchell.

Local music artist in the band Josh Silver agreed with Estar and told that every track is very cinematic. It is like they are painting a picture.

Travis Aukerman, t he band’s drummer, told that the aim of the band is Cohen’s music. Travis told that she is really inspired by music that’s very earthy. It is music that has roots in folk, but is extremely inspired by jazz and classical. Estar added that her very first influence with all the music was her older siblings.
